31 Days of Adulting: Day 1

The 31 Day Adulting Challenge

Today is the first day of the 31 Days of Adulting Challenge.  I woke up at 6:20 to my first alarm (wahoo!), popped up out of bed and immediately got in the shower.  Then I did my hair, moisturized and got dressed before the kids were even done with breakfast.  I dropped them off at school fully dressed for the day!  Then I came home and took the dog for a walk (good for us both).

Weighing in on day one, I am 167.6 lbs.  Ouch.  I’ll be honest:  I don’t actually have a goal weight.  I’m resistant to change and if I don’t drop a few pounds, I’m going to have to get new clothes.  It’s too much.  I like most of my clothes and I like everything right where it is.  Ain’t nobody got time for clothes shopping.

So, the diet plan is Paleo.  I love the theory of Paleo and I really believe in it.  Even if I don’t drop any weight, I’d like to give it a try and see how I feel.  It makes sense to me that your body would be at it’s best if it’s eating naturally.

Breakfast was 2 hard boiled eggs and 3 slices of tomato.  Morning snack was an apple.  Lunch was nitrate-free meats, and an avocado slice, wrapped in lettuce.  Afternoon snack was a spoonful (okay, two spoonfuls) of almond butter (nom nom nom) and dinner was salmon, carrots and broccoli.  Everything was really good and I surprisingly didn’t feel hungry throughout the day.

Quick Easy Simple Paleo Lunch

I didn’t have any coffee and was wiped out early in the evening.  I was dead asleep by 10:30.

Day one, a success.  If the next thirty can go like this, I’m in good shape.

    Oh girl, if you manage to go through all 31 days, it will be huge.
    (It’s the coffee part that worries me.) 😀

    Sounds like a great 1st day of adulting! ha! I am currently on day 4 of a 5 day detox (no sugar, caffeine, alcohol, wheat… blah blah) It has def motivated me to start eating better when its over!
