How To: Remove Labels part 1 (plastic labels)

Easily DIY remove paper labels from bottles

We’ve all been there: You get a product or you want to create a DIY project and there’s some label or sticker adhered to it so well, you never get the residue off. Then the thing turns into an eyesore, embarrassment and reminder of your failure to just remove a sticker.

Turns out, removing these things can actually be pretty easy if you have the right tools. For this example, I’m working on making my kitchen sink area prettier by removing the aging, ugly labels on my dish soap bottles.

Here’s where we start: A lovely kitchen sink area, clean and organized. But there’s something annoyingly wrong here.

So, first things first: assemble your tools. You will need
paper towels, Goof Off and a covered work space. I also recommend that you do this in a well ventilated area as the Goof Off can be pretty stinky when you spray it (think: stove cleaner).

Gather tools and products for removing sticky labels

Most of the stickers on these bottles were plastic with adhesive. First, peel the plastic label off the bottle gently.
